VMware ESX and ESXi 3.5u1 now support Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors!
VMware ESX and ESXi 3.5u1 now support Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors, including support for Rapid Virtualization Indexing. Hardware partners are currently certifying their AMD Opteron processor-based servers for VMware, and as servers complete certification they will be listed on VMware's Systems Compatibility Guide, which is updated weekly and can be accessed online.
