Innovative Architectural Design To Enhance Your Virtualization Experience
Through deep collaboration extending throughout our organizations, VMware and AMD are forging a best-in-class relationship between hardware and software that delivers robust virtualization solutions to support our customer’s business needs.
Virtualization has emerged as a key technological innovation that enables IT managers to build more productive, flexible, and scalable datacenters and at the same time reduce costs, increase availability, support new business initiatives, and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
By basing your virtualization solutions on VMware Infrastructure software and multi-core AMD Opteron™ processor-based systems from Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, HP, IBM, Rackable, and Sun, you can significantly improve performance, reduce power consumption, increase utilization, and enhance security for your business critical resources.

North Shore Medical Center Provides Better Support with AMD Processor-based Solutions (03:36)
North Shore Medical Center workflow was being routinely disrupted, and the data center could not scale to add new servers.
The server consolidation solution with AMD based HP Proliant Servers running VMware VI3 enabled the data center to reduce from 150 servers to 94, with 86 of those virtualized. Implementing VDI with AMD based HP thin clients reduced log-in time from as much as five minutes down to just seconds or a minute at most; the enhanced server performance gave clinicians a smooth, uninterrupted workflow; and the reliability and flexibility of the infrastructure reduced help desk calls significantly.
North Shore Medical Center is part of a nonprofit integrated health system founded in 1994 by Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Its system is made up of hospitals, primary and specialty care physicians, community health centers, and other health-related entities.
