OLTP Performance Benchmark

IBM SWG ran a comparison test between an IBM System X3755 2.8GHz Dual-Core system, and an AMD 2.0 GHz 4P reference platform system to see how DB2® 9 performed. The performance increase was outstanding, topping out at a 61% increase in performance over the dual-core systems.

This test simulated an online store environment using an open source workload (DVDStore), running on SuSE Enterprise Linux 10, and DB2 9.
